Julie began skating competitively at the age of 8. At the age of 11 her family moved to the Cleveland area where she continued to compete individually and joined Jeff Marshall’s precision team at Greenbrier ice rink. Julie skated for the Greenbrier Precision team for 6 years competing nationally at the juvenile through junior level. She also competed at the sectional level in gold dance.
After graduating in May 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education, with a minor in Biology, she took time away from skating to get married and have a family. In 2013 Julie came back to the sport she loves as a private lesson coach, and shortly thereafter she joined the Cleveland Edges as Assistant Coach. Julie is currently the head coach of the Beginner team. She is Gold tested in Dance, and has passed the Intermediate Freestyle and Third Figure tests.
Heather began dancing at the age of 3 and from the very first class she was hooked! She studied numerous dance styles including ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, acro, musical theater and tap. She began dancing competitively at the age of six and won numerous dance competitions all around the country. She has dedicated her life to perfecting the craft she loves.
As an adult her professional highlights include dancing featured roles in numerous full length ballets. Her favorite performance highlights include The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, and The Firebird. She then went on to do a national tour of Sesame Street Live! as the character Zoe.
After touring Heather wanted to start teaching and choreographing which she had dreamed of doing for many years. She has choreographed multiple award winning competitive pieces and has taught hundreds of students sharing her love of performing with them all. Heather is a firm believer in ongoing education and is a proud certified member of both Cechetti and Dance Masters of America.
Heather is so excited to be working with the Cleveland Edges doing choreography, teaching off ice and ballet and helping kids flourish as artists and performers!
Miranda Oltmanns is a recent graduate of Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN. While in school, she skated for The University of Notre Dame’s Collegiate Synchronized Skating Team. She was also President of the club. While in school, she began and coached the Junior Irish Synchronized Skating team and helped run Learn to Skate at the Compton Family Ice Arena. Her many achievements include planning the highly successful Tri-States Synchronized Skating Championships in 2015 and winning the MidWest Championships in 2013 and 2014. Prior to attending college, she grew up skating for the Cleveland Edges and attributes much of her success to the background she attained during these years. She is currently working full time as a 4th grade teacher. Miranda enjoys using her education background on the ice. She is very excited to be back and coaching for her home club!
Nicole started skating at the age of 4 and competed individually from ages 7-14. When she was 14, she began synchronized skating with the Cleveland Edges Skating Club where she skated throughout her high school career on the Novice and Intermediate teams. In addition, she taught Learn-to-Skate for 8 years. In 2011, Nicole Passed her Senior Moves in the Field.
After she graduated from high school, she attended Cleveland State University for a year and was the assistant coach of the Cleveland Edges Preliminary team under the direction of Jeff Marshall. Before leaving to skate for Adrian College, Nicole passed her Senior Free Skating and Silver Ice Dancing test in 2012. To finish her college career, she attended Adrian College in Adrian Michigan. In her first two years at Adrian, Nicole competed on the Senior Synchronized Skating team. In 2015, her second year, the team was Midwestern Champions and placed 6th at the National Synchronized Skating Championships. Her third year, she was a Co-Captain of the Collegiate Team. They were Pewter medalists at the 2016 Sectionals and placed 6th at Nationals. Along with synchronized skating, Nicole was a member of the Intercollegiate Figure Skating Team, competing at the Senior level. As an intercollegiate team, they were conference champions in 2014, 2015 and 2016, qualifying them for Nationals.
In 2016, Nicole graduated from Adrian with a Bachelors of Arts degree with a focus in Biology. In 2016, Nicole returned to the Cleveland Edges and currently coaches the Juvenile, Intermediate and Novice Teams and also coaches private lessons.
